Wis den's All-time India T 20I XI excludes Dhoni, DK gets the wicket keeper's slot
Considered the Bible of Cricket, Wis den magazine has published India’s all-time T20I team which left everyone shocked as Dhoni ’s name is not on the list.
Information:
Regarding Dhoni’s exclusion from the list:
Despite huge achievements, including winning the first-ever T20 world cup in 2007, India’s former captain failed to make it to the list created by Wis den magazine.
Wis den's all-time T20 team for India:
Wisden magazine involve Rohit Sharma and the Virat Kohli as openers, while Surayakumar Yadav came in at digit 3 in this team. Yuvraj Singh was placed at digit 5 followed by Hardik Pandya, Suresh Raina, and the Karthik. Indian bowling attack includes Ravichandran Ashwin, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah, and Ashish Nehra. Virender Sehwag was listed as the to 12th man.
About MS Dhoni as a cricketer:
Mahendra Singh Dhoni is undoubtedly among the best cricketers to have played for India. Apart from his excellent finishing skills, Dhoni was also a brilliant wicket keeper who turned around umpteen matches with his skills behind the stumps. Furthermore, his leadership ability and the tactical acumen made him an a asset to the Indian team.
Under his captaincy, India not only won the T20 World Cup but also became the winner in the ODI World Cup win in 2011 and the Champions Trophy in 2013.
The reason behind DK’s inclusion:
Despite numerous achievements, the former India skipper has failed to make it to Wisden’s All-time India T20I XI. The slot for wicketkeeper went to Dinesh Karthik. As per Wisden magazine, “DK’s recent comeback into the team helped him edge past Dhoni into the XI.”
Wisden also compared both the player’s batting strike rate, where DK has a strike rate of 150.31, superior to Dhoni’s 121.15.
About Dinesh Karthik:
Dines Karthik, although has a great record in domestic tournaments, often got overlooked as India had Dhoni as a wicket keeper batsman.
However, he made a brilliant comeback after Dhoni’s retirement and currently is part of the Indian team preparing for the upcoming ICC Mens’ T20 World Cup in Australia.
DK would like to make the best use of the comeback into the Indian team and guide India to a T20 World Cup triumph in Australia. He has been provided with the designated finisher’s role while Rishabh Pant is playing as a wicket keeper-batsman. India would hope that he can be in great form throughout the tournament and help India to achieve a historic feat.
