Google lends support to 20 startups by Indian women founders
Selected women-founded startups will be supported by tech giant Google in network and capital-related access and overcome technological issues.
India is one of the largest start-up capitals in the world in the field of healthcare, e-commerce, and fin tech . However, this industry is still male-dominated, and there are very few female founders. To promote awareness about women empowerment, Tech Giant Google has now taken an initiative to support women-founded start-ups in India. Information about the initiative
On Monday, Google declared the first class of 20 women-founded/co-founded startups, curated from around 400 applications, for the inaugural cohort of ‘Google for Startups Accelerator-India Women Founders’.

With this initiative, Google will emphasize access to networks, access to capital, hiring challenges, mentorship, and many others which, for a variety of social reasons and low representation, prove challenging for female founders.

Statement by Google
As per the official statement released by Google, “This programmer is part of a larger effort by Google towards improving the representation of women across different sections of India’s digitally-trained workforce – be it entrepreneurship, professionals looking to up-skill or young graduates seeking a head start on their career.”
While talking about the curriculum, Google officials said, “In addition to these, the curriculum will include workshops and support around AI/ML, Cloud, UX, Android, Web, product strategy and growth, as well as provide access to a global community of women founders.”
Some of the already selected startups include Aspire for Her, Brown Living, Col Learn Education, Commune, Dub-verse, Elda Health, Fit bots, among others
For instance, Misery startup is building a world-class review-focused ecosystem with an aim to remove product misinformation through authentic reviews and customer feedback, while O POD Audio is a vernacular audio app that provides contextual information on trending news and current affairs in just 30 seconds.
