CBSE – NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST NEET (UG) - 2017 RESULTS DECLARED.

CBSE – NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST NEET (UG) - 2017 RESULTS DECLARED.

The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) result 2017 has been declared by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The result was declared at 10:43am on Friday on official website - www.cbseneet.nic.in for the result.

“Result of NEET (UG) - 2017 has been declared as per the directives of Hon'ble Supreme Court of India. Good Wishes to all candidates from CBSE,” a declaration on the official website said on Friday morning.

The CBSE had set in motion the process for declaring the result of NEET 2017 after the Supreme Court gave a go-ahead to the board. The apex court stayed a May 24 interim order of the Madras High Court, which had restrained the CBSE from publishing the result of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) 2017.

In staying the Madras HC order, the Supreme Court had paved the way for the declaration of results of the exam taken by around 12 lakh students aspiring to join medical and dental colleges across the country.

The top court said it was inclined to grant a stay on the high court's order which was indirectly "diluting" the schedule for NEET 2017 earlier fixed by the apex court.

The result is available on cbseneet.nic.in. Here’s how you can check your score:

Around 10.5 lakh students appeared for the exam in either Hindi or English while around 1.25 lakh to 1.50 lakh students appeared in eight vernacular languages —Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Bengali, Assamese, Gujarati, Oriya and Kannada.

The NEET 2017 result had been held up due to an order of the Madras High Court which on May 24 granted interim stay on the publication of NEET results on a batch of pleas alleging that a uniform question paper was not given in the examination and there was a vast difference between the ones in English and in Tamil.

The NEET examination for admission to undergraduate medical and dental courses was held on May 7.
