After the launch of 5G services in India, IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said on Sunday that the government plans to set up 100 5G labs across the country. Some of these labs will also be turned into incubators to train scholars, promote invention, exploration and trial.

Vaishnaw, on the alternate day of the Indian Mobile Congress( IMC) 2022 in New Delhi, said, “ We're going to set up 100 5G labs across the country. I request the telecom assiduity to come together and convert at least 12 of these 100 labs into telecom incubators to train scholars and do trials.
He talked about how the government is working significantly towards simplifying the licence governance for telecom players. “ I'm really happy to see the energy of startups and MSMEs who are going to pastoral areas to profit people, ” Vaishnaw said.

The minister also invited commentary ahead of finalizing the draft of the Indian Telecommunication Bill, 2022.
