7th Pay Commission: Report not final, recommendations likely to be revised

New Delhi, : The proposed
recommendations of 7th Pay Commission is likely to be revised, said Defence minister Manohar Parrikar.

While replying to a question on recommendations for armed forces in seventh pay commission, Parrikar said, "The Seventh Pay Commission are in the form of recommendations. I do not think they (recommendations) will remain. I do not consider them as finalities. I have flagged them and will flag them properly at the right level."

"The concerns raised by the armed forces would be taken up by the commission, said Parrikar in an interview with India Today. The commission would take up concerns raised by the armed forces at the right level and the pay panel report for armed forces may be overruled.

The Defence Ministry earlier sought a fresh analysis of the concerns raised by the Army, Navy and the Air force- over the recommendations of the seventh pay commission. The commission is likely to revise the pay structure for the central government employees before submitting it to Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. The report is to be submitted in June.

The Centre, in January this year, had set up a high-powered panel headed by Cabinet Secretary P K Sinha to process the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission which will have bearing on the remuneration of 47 lakh central government employees and 52 lakh pensioners.
